Juunishi Zodiacs - Character

[Juunishi Zodiacs] was one of the finalists in the 2022 PlayStation Talents Portugal contest, nominated for 'Best Game', 'Best Art' and 'Best Storytelling'. It was my final project for my second year at university.
The game is a fantasy and adventure visual novel featuring combat and exploration elements.
The story is divided into seven chapters and is inspired by the Sino-Japanese zodiac and Japanese mythology, and the players follow the story of the protagonist, Akira Nishida, a young writer who loses the use of his hands in an accident caused by monsters generated by Etheria, known as the Variants. While attempting suicide, Akira is visited by the Animal Spirit of the Rat, who offers him a contract: in exchange for healing his hands and granting him supernatural powers, Akira must give his soul and help the Spirit find the missing God of the Moon and Shadows on Aoishima.
